Well, thought of something like this. It started with some nvidia driver
version - don't remember which. I also recompiling mplayer quite often,
so it may also be some new vdpau feature mplayer uses now which doesn't
work on my hardware. But I don't think it's a faulty hardware, it runs
perfectly fine in any other case. But you never know ;-)
The funny thing is that I have no problems with mplayer2 vdpau - so it
seems to be something mplayer uses what mplayer2 does not use. So what's
so different - both should do the same, open a window and displaying the
video buffer?
