While everything is OK now, I wonder why you want to have this
committed given that it is just a skeleton without function.

Why not just commit this to git(-svn) and submit it here once you
have a functional vo driver?  Note that I don't mind submitting RFC
patches and getting early comments like you did, in fact I think it
is a good idea.

However, I'm not sure if we should accept such work-in-progress.  In
the past this has not always worked out well, some parts of MPlayer
were never properly finished...
