I tend to agree. Perhaps a runtime message would be better if you were
to try to use a disabled feature.

And with regards to zsh-a-like man pages, yes, i like it.

So shall I try some kind of variable substitution for man pages? I guess I would
copy the manual page to mplayer.1.in and substitution would create mplayer.1.
How about something like that?
