[MPlayer-dev-eng] Porting advice for video stabilization filter

Hello,

I am new to the list and to mplayer development. I wrote a two plugins for 
transcode for video stabilization/deshaking [1]. I am now planning to port 
this to either mplayer/mencoder or ffmpeg. 
What would you recommend?
As far as I understand one can use ffmpeg's libavfilters in mencoder right? This 
suggests that this is the right place.
I would also like to have a SSE and possibly GPU support in the framework.
