I don't think there have been many other such fixes.  I applied one
user-submitted patch back in August, after applying my layout fixes
patch.

So I guess the approximate answer to your question is "me."

I have the hardware to test such changes easily enough.  Nicolas's patch
is the same as what's in my local tree so I feel reasonably confident
saying it's correct, but I haven't gone through my usual slew of
multichannel audio tests yet.

Will do so tonight, and resubmit the 8 channel audio patch.
