i thought coreavc-for-linux had multithreading...

also some windows boxes do not have wmp11 (mine!) and i
dont have plans to upgrade anytime soon. in fact, wmp10/wmp11 will not
even install on win98/win2k

my other point that newer codecs = faster still holds.
