I forgot to say: IMO leave that for now though, it's going to be some effort -
particularly making sure there are no weird bugs (and I'd be in favour
of trying to share code with vo_gl, particularly since a vaapi vo will
probably want to use the same stuff, too), let's first get a basic version in.
