FYI:

* The basic vo_vdpau support isn't merged into MPlayer yet. It's being
  worked on. (VDPAU support is only in ffmpeg so far). I don't recall
  the exact release date, but I doubt they'll be included by then.

* The ass/ssa support is a patch against NVIDIA's MPlayer patches, not
  against the initial code that'll be in MPlayer.

* The ass/ssa support has been rolled into NVIDIA's MPlayer patch
  and will be included in the next release we make of those; you won't
  have to wait long for this.
