This is not official information, but some developers have determined 
10.6.1's version to be 1038.1.
Patchlevels seem to be internal (there's no 10.6.13 yet), and AppKit's 
major version is incremented only when the API changes. Someone reported 
version 1000.x to be either a developer prerelease, but that's very 
unreliable.
