Of course, I am sorry if that wasn't clear;-)

(Surely not "fine technical detail", but I'll answer nonetheless)
All PAFF samples I know of fail with mplayer (-mc 0), meaning that A/V sync gets
worse every second, no matter if correct-pts is used or not, with or without
-fps 100 and I did not find a value for autosync that made a difference.
All PAFF samples I have transcode fine with ffmpeg and play ok with ffplay (I
know there are some that fail, but I have many and they can all be viewed and
transcoded).
-mc 1 does of course not "fix" the problem (there is still a lot of clearly
visible jitter), but it is a very useful workaround, so I propose to make it
standard.

PS: Am I the only one for whom playing ts files with -demuxer lavf fails
reliably?
