What about this?

   -volume <-1-100> (also see -af volume)
          Set the volume in the mixer, either  hardware  or  software  (if
          used with -softvol). A value of -1 (the default) will not change
          the volume.  As opposite to -af volume this option  doesn’t  add
          any  filter  so  it could be a little faster, nor has any of the
          inconveniences that -af volume may have.
