Ok, I give up. You should be right. It seems unlikely that latest SVN
works for 3+ people and it doesn't for me. I'll just download msys
1.0.11/mingw 5.1.4/directx7 headers and will "recreate" a fresh
environment. You're right that there might be a sed-like issue.

YUY2 is broken indeed, but I'll check why. It worked just yesterday.
It's going to be trivial mistake.

About being slower and getting high CPU usage - that's not normal.
I'll see what I can do. On my system direct3d is a little slower than
directx.

In a few hours I'll submit another patch with Diego's requirements met
and YUY2 fixed. In an hour or so I'll write the results from trying
fresh msys/mingw.
