[MPlayer-dev-eng] Refactor day (and patch day)

I'd like to solve in 24 hours one of the main annoying issues in mplayer:

The coding style (and the code by itself sometimes) is ugly.

Getting it done little by little over a large timeframe makes people 
complain because it breaks patches worked one and usually people do not 
care enough and let some work towards this bitrot.

I'd pick a day, get as many people as possible working on it and clean 
most of it up, people having patches pending should try to push them 
before the party starts and/or help getting things done as quickly as 
possible.

Who likes the idea?
