Hello !

Thanks for your inputs in this regard. Could you please tell me more about these bugs in Hardware ?
I read some of the posts on same subject of providing MAE support to MPlayer on this SoC.  In one of the posts you have suggested to use the same infrastructure as in dxr2/3 cards.

Whats your opinion on that, from engineering perspective how complex is it and whether it is feasible or not?

Also there were some liscencing issues discussed. Is it that Mplayer is GPL and the MAI code is not GPL, so I can not link MAI code with MPlayer and then Distribute MPlayer ?

AMD sold the Alchemy line to RMI a year or two ago. MAE is documented
in the data book[1]. That said, i dont think anyone ever made
an OSS accelerator using MAE. And also i'd be carefull about
bugs in MAE core, the Alchemy cpus are known to contain some pretty
nasty bugs at cruical places.
