But would this work in windowed mode? As it is currently impossible to
watch some streams this really needs a fix. And if all the attempts of
much more knowledgeable mplayer dev's break certain things then an extra
switch -force-fixed-vo could be a viable option.

Note that admittingly xine & co die totally when trying to play that
stream. In this sense mplayer is already better.
