Here are some typical values for the Athlon 800 with -vo null, same
file, otherwise same command (though a slightly different kernel did a
dist-upgrade in-between, should not matter though):
libmpeg2:
BENCHMARKs: VC:  21.739s VO:8589.953s A:   0.000s Sys:-8582.944s = 28.748s
user    0m23.369s

ffmpeg12:
BENCHMARKs: VC:  21.176s VO:   0.015s A:   0.000s Sys:   7.626s = 28.817s
user    0m22.765s
