Yes, I mentioned this in my original mail.  It's to do with the
currently loaded font (of which I have no control over).  If you turn on
- -v you will see that the font reloads and the display becomes correct.

You can get the same effect from just a standard resize and right arrow.

If anyone does have any ideas on this then throw them this way.
