I'm not *that* sure that DVD which only play with dvdnav are increasing.
It's only Sony DVDs which require dvdnav, all other manufacturers worked
perfectly without (except for some other protection scheme, to be found
on german Silent Hill DVD, which I didn't care for further investigation
and got the UK instead...).

Since language selection via -alang and -slang works now well even with
dvdnav (I had some issues with it some time ago), I could use dvdnav
exclusively, though it's my feeling dvdread is somewhat faster on
startup, i.e. from hitting the return key to seeing the first picture
takes more time with dvdnav than with dvdread alone.

If only the content information would be printed out as they were some
time ago... I mean channels with type and language, subtitles with
language, number of angles and chapters. At the current moment, this
info is not printed, and with at least three copies of DVDread source
packages lying around I'm not sure where to begin :)
