MPlayer has a smart centering feature, it centers the window
on the current xinerama screen and not on the current x11 screen.
I know that it does not work with certain setups using nvidia
twinview, but i never got anyone to tell my what does not work
or even to write a complete bugreport.

use -geometry

Doens't -geometry already allow that? If not, send patch.
And BTW, it's MPlayer with a capital P.
