Hmm.
MPlayer dev-SVN-r23011-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team
(yeah I know it isn't new but I don't want to lose dts decoding
functionaly - "ffmpeg" dts decoder is basically unworkable, and the only
working one was removed).
metacity-2.18.3 as window manager. No obscure settings and tweakers
installed.
fglrx 8.37.6 driver. xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.2.0 server.
mplayer just switches back to window on video change. It also does this
on aspect ratio change
---
F1 switch_ratio 1.33333
F2 switch_ratio 1.77778
F3 switch_ratio 1.85
F4 switch_ratio 2.3
F5 switch_ratio 0
---
in config (with xvidix, it worked correctly - but vidix is broken for a
long time for me, so I can't test it).
Also after mplayer switches to window on video change, aspect of
previous video preserves. When switching to fullscreen with 'f', aspect
is correct for new video. When switching back to window with 'f', aspect
is broken again. In other words, aspect ratio for window mode breaks
unless mplayer was in window mode when switching video.

Very strange. Well, it doesn't matter anyway.
