Commit it as soon as possible.

You don't have to wait for permission in order to fix 10l (broken build) bug.
Even partially working hackish fix is better than broken build.
If the maintainer is not happy, he can commit proper one later.

In that case diego broke the build. He have no excuse for not fixing
it for 2 days.
