How about use libmenu's console run command 'loadfile dvd://'
As for play dvd, you can check menu.conf, there's such a line:
<e name="Open playlist ..." ok="set_menu open_list"/>
what's in the quotes of 'ok', could be any mplayer command, add an
entry for play dvd and set value of 'ok' to 'loadfile dvd://' should
do what you want
