Since I have a slower CPU, I always try cars:
http://movies.apple.com/movies/disney/cars/cars-tsr4_h1080p.mov

time mplayer -rtc cars-tsr4_h1080p.mov
225 frames dropped
39,3 sec CPU

time mplayer -nortc cars-tsr4_h1080p.mov
134 frames dropped
37,5 sec CPU

(several tries both, best results)

I saw the 10% improvement on fanta4-720p.
