I still don't quite like this phrasing, but it's better than it was
before.

I somehow missed noticing this second occurrence, even though I pointed
out a parallel one above: missing "the" before "mplayer-dev-eng mailing
list".

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what the "(also)" means here.
Does it mean "in addition to keeping important discussions on the
mailing list, please also keep requests there", or "in addition to
sending patches to the mailing list, please also keep both important
discussions and requests there", or something else?

Other than that, looks fairly good to me.
