hmm, could we call it an sucessor of libao ?
I'm looking for a generic library for audio output (maybe input and
hw supported conversion too), which can be used by all applications,
and even audio servers, so no extra layer is necessary. Something like
DirectFB but for audio. The whole thing of audio output is handled by
this library only. Here we the user also puts its configuration, ie.
which devices to use, servers to connect, etc.
The libao(2) seemed to be suitable for that task.
Is there any documentation for the API of libao2 (instead of the
source, of course ;-)) ?
