And have two setlocale call for each printf, sprintf, snprintf, fprintf,
scanf, scanf, strcasecmp and lots of other functions. Probably > 500k of
code size, and for what?
With the occasional person forgetting to do the right thing and some 10%
of the world wondering why one MPlayer feature does not work for them
but everyone else.
Sorry, but I really can't think of any way this locale handling could
have been done worse.
