I don't know, but I think I hit the same problem with -demuxer lavf
(since non of the files here:
http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=529
seem to work correctly with our demuxer).
I have a hackish fix for that though which I'll try to send somewhen this evening.
This is in addition to the crash-happyness of libavcodec theora decoder
for which I already sent a patch.
