OK, an updated version of your patch would probably be easier, though.

Now I sometimes get double frees that crash gmplayer:

*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x108a1cf8 ***

Also, with gmplayer I often get

DVDNAV stream seek error: (0)

error popups.

Let me know if you cannot reproduce this.
