mplayer dvdnav:// ... -dvdnav-nofixed-vo
mplayer dvdnav:// ... -dvdnav-nofixed-vo -dvdnav-realstill
mplayer dvdnav:// ... -fixed-vo -dvdnav-realstill

Try out with vo_config_request_hack.patch (to only test), please:

mplayer dvdnav:// ... -dvdnav-nofixed-vo
mplayer dvdnav:// ... -dvdnav-nofixed-vo -dvdnav-realstill
mplayer dvdnav:// ... -fixed-vo -dvdnav-realstill

I would like to ask you to test the patch and/or hack if it works.
