Thanks for the effort, it is really appreciated. SHould it work/did you
test with alsa 0.9 as well? If not, can somebody please do so?

P.S.: I'm happy about everyone testing/reviewing this, I doubt I'll have
much time, and ao_alsa improvements are really needed...
