OK - I thought that but I was using demux_lavf.c as a guide and it
examines the codec to set these values before the first frame is
played. I dont know how else this information can be obtained - it
doesnt seem to be available in the asf container.

So, just to clarify, the framerate belongs in the demuxer but the
framesize and bitrate dont?
