For comparison the results for the longer file on K7:

Default (internal tremor):
BENCHMARKs: VC:   0.000s VO:   0.000s A:  46.510s Sys:   0.118s =   46.628s

Internal tremor configured with with --enable-tremor-low:
BENCHMARKs: VC:   0.000s VO:   0.000s A:  34.486s Sys:   0.119s =   34.605s

Configured with --disable-tremor-internal, uses Debian's default libvorbis
(compiled with less optimization than MPlayer):
BENCHMARKs: VC:   0.000s VO:   0.000s A:  33.714s Sys:   0.120s =   33.834s

-ac ffvorbis:
BENCHMARKs: VC:   0.000s VO:   0.000s A:  24.041s Sys:   0.134s =   24.175s

I didn't try compiling libvorbis with higher optimization settings.
