I've tried it and it does not work:
gnome_screensaver_disable(): Error: Method "InhibitActivation" with
signature "s" on interface "org.gnome.ScreenSaver" doesn't exist

This is with gnome-screensaver 2.15.1 on Mandriva Cooker i586.
