That's weird.

I generally do ./configure --enable-macosx-finder-support (I wrote  
the code, so I am quite sure it couldn't be the cause) but I also  
tried a ./configure without options.

This solves the problem anyway:
If nobody else is able to generate the same ERROR (the warning I  
could live with, as during the build the warnings are in number of  
hundreds), I'd dismiss it as something that affects only to my  
configuration (even if it SHOULD be the standard apple configuration  
for a G5), and I'll live with --disable-x11.
