Well I'm glad you asked because nobody has been interested in applying it :) 

Since then I did a lot of tests, made some changes, and I think now the 
patched mplayer works correctly in every case.

I also submitted the dvdread part to the libdvdread developers, but so far I 
haven't got an aswer.

The final version (diffed from today's cvs) is attached.
