You claim that the video window will appear when used together with
-fixed-vo, but no such thing is happening for me (tested with vo_xv and
vo_x11).  After playing a video with -fixed-vo the video window does not
disappear, though.

Another, more general, thought: Is this option useful at all outside of
slave mode?  Then why not make -slave imply -idle?
