I agree.

Furthermore, the CPUFLAGS thing helps warn users of when they are using
a poorly packaged MPlayer, for example running an MPlayer with disabled
MMX and SSE on a brand new Athlon64. It happens frighteningly often,
and in most cases the packaged MPlayer is only slightly broken, and not
entirely broken as one of marillat's i586 packages which tried to use MMX, and
of course died immediately with Illegal Instruction, rather than just running slow.

Without the cpu flags and the warnings present at non-verbose levels, I fear
alot of people will just install MPlayer, conclude it's fucking slow, then uninstall it. :(
