You still don't get it. Line endings have to be in the native format, i.e.
LF on Unix, CR/LF on Windows, etc. Forcing it to a non-native format (i.e.
CR/LF on Unix, because you think that's "standard" for text files that
contain subtitles) should be optional selectable by some commandline
(sub)option.
