Not so good option IMHO.
Why multiply output formats?
If you write a media and a subtitle file to the CD-R then it will
be prepared only for one variant. Stick to the standards.
Many software uses classical cr/lf and it seems no big deal
to produce output just in this one compatible format.
Editing under Unix/Linux is not a problem too:
Vim or Yudit text editors or specialized Java
or X11 subtitle editors work like a charm.
I can't see any explanation for doing this in own
proprietary way.
