Have these files worked before changes made on Nov 10? (aka 1.0pre7)

If I am not wrong mplayer switch to next video output module when
preinit fails. Unfortunately at preinit time the decoders/parsers etc.
are not inited and dimensions are not know.
In other words, it would be hard to fix it.
