Because both OSes have started and will continue to divert. Masquerading
as FreeBSD only helps for a certain while (that's why this patch comes
now and not 1.5 years ago). A lot of this checks could be generalised to
a BSD check, but it's not my code base to decide this :) It's not every
__FreeBSD__ line BTW.
