I'm not really happy with this patch either. But I recognize the
problem. But maybe it would be enough to assign the "osd 0" command to a
key, like that you can switch the osd off by pressing that key, and
switching it on by pressing that key followed by 'o'.
You couls of course assign "osd 1", "osd 2", "osd 3" if you have enough
unused keys *g*.
