Although I haven't tested compilation with this patch on my AMD-64
machine, so I can't be 100% certain that it would work, this patch
doesn't change the current ASM that needs to get digested by GCC-3.4.
Given that I'm 100% sure that it currently works on AMD-64 with
GCC-3.4 because that's the compiler I've been using even since I
bought that machine, I think you may have overlooked this patch, so
please have a closer look at it.
