Hi, this was a quite informative read: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gcl-devel/2004-06/msg00295.html Seems like the fact that we use asm code cause gcc to assume we need the stack executable :-(. They were going a lot too much for backwards-compatibility IMHO... Greetings, Reimar Döffinger
