The output of "mencoder -ovc copy -o m84menc.mpg -of mpeg m84_1.mpg"  
(from  
http://hubblesource.stsci.edu/sources/video/clips/details/lg-blk- 
hole.php) doesn't open in QuickTime Player, although it works in VLC  
and Mplayer; this is on MacOS X.

I uploaded it to http://astrange.ithinksw.net/etc/m84menc.mpg.

Since everything else I have seems to think it's a real MPEG-1 file,  
I'll probably file it as a bug at Apple's website.
