Cool.  Well I am up for a spot of work on cleaning up main().  I want to 
tackle a complete Jack output layer for all my apps first though (this 
is my main priority) so that I can finish my rather exotic active 
amplification hifi system.  I'm going to be driving 6-8 amplifiers 
individually with crossovers done on the PC, and Jack is my solution, 
but I need to fix up quite a few apps first.  This is going to mean that 
I need to fix the mplayer Jack output layer to work with multichannel 
output as well (doesnt look like a problem though).
