Yeah, I know! It wasnt clear from the question (and without any
knowledge of lavc) whether that was what you meant or not!

Hey, steady on. You are talking to a chap who is implementing a whole
digital room correction setup. I have octave burning hot here doing
computation of correction curves.

For sure I am not a DSP guru, but I do understand enough to get by. I
certainly understand a high order brickwall filter.

Look, you obviously know this code and lavc a lot better than I do. My
requirements are for a high end resampler, and I otherwise love mplayer
(since it operates very nicely using only a remote control). For
technical reasons the whole thing is locked at 44100Khz, and so I need
access to a *high quality* resampler, and my first thoughts are that the
high quality option in mplayer is still audibly lower quality than I
would like (subjective). So if you can start me off in the right
direction then I would be more than happy to help put in an "ultra high
quality" option for the nutcases like me who aren't satisfied with what
we have already.

This isn't a feature request. As you can perhaps see I have already
fixed up the Jack and alsa audio output code for my needs (also in other
media players). I am happy to write the code, I just need a few
pointers as to what is acceptable for inclusion to CVS.

Thanks

Ed W
