thanks for quick reply, now can you link that in the DOCS in codec importing?
otherwise reading the DOCS, it does not show me how to find the tech dir
(only mpsub is linked from the DOCS to the DOCS/tech)

in fact, the 2.2.3. Win32 codecs importing HOWTO section says NOTHING
about codecs.conf ;\
