Well, borrow the Motorola version and change () to {}.
(I don't know the gcc internal enough to know if
such a seemingly trivial change would be hard to
implement).

It ain't apple worship, it's pragmatism. There was a version
that worked before, why did they reimplement it in a
(even more) broken way ?

And anyway, it wasn't Apple at first, it was Motorola,
or so I believe. Apple took over later, IIRC (but I may
be wrong).
