Hmm. I take it, then, that you have an OpenDML AVI which contains soft
subtitles embedded using OpenDML, and MPlayer with this patch can
display them correctly? If so, what is the command line you use? (It's
possible that I'm just missing a trick here.) If not, on what do you
base your guess?

I would have expected that if it was not an OpenDML text stream, then
MPlayer would not have recognized that the third stream existed, much
less known that it was text. (Granting both of those, however, the rest
of the behaviour does follow reasonably.)
